The annual meeting of the Network of European Regions for Research and Innovation ERRIN was held on 20th June 2016 in the region of Lodźkie in Brussels.

The final conference of the project "Youth and Brussels based regions" was organized in Brussels on 16th June 2016. The speakers were representatives of EU institutions and regions involved in the project. The conference was opened by President of the Abruzzo region Luciano D'Alfonso, while the President Nikola Dobroslavić held closing speech and opened the exhibition of photographs taken during the project.

European Sustainable Energy Week EUSEW held 13th to 17th June 2016 in Brussels. A whole series of conferences dedicated to sustainable energy, gathered a considerable number of energy experts, government representatives, regions, civil society and media.

The 2016 annual meeting organized by the Commission with Interreg Managing authorities and Joint Secretariats addressed the most outstanding issues relating to the implementation of Interreg V programmes (2014-2020) and looked ahead at the next generation of Interreg VI programmes (post 2020). The agenda of the meeting has been designed on the basis of the results of an online survey to which all programmes were invited to contribute last February. EU Commission is set to focus the EU budget on results . The aim of the meeting was to learn about and get inspired by concrete achievements of Interreg programmes.

The European Business Summit entitled "A Time for Bold Moves - Sharp Policies to Enable Business Solutions" invited more than 2 000 participants from over 60 countries, including: the President of the European Commission, members of the European Commission, members of the European Parliament, Heads of State, CEOs, high-ranking individuals and about 250 journalists and broadcasters to debate, this year, about the European Single Market, a genuine Economic and Monetary Union, an ambitious Digital policy and the support of Entrepreneurship and Creativity throughout Europe.
