
Regional Policy Commissioner, Corina Cretu met the Brussels-based regional representative offices on 20th February 2017. During the meeting, she underlined the importance of the partnership with Europe's regional and local authorities in planning and putting into practice the programmes under the reformed Regional Policy for 2014-2020 and about Regional policy after 2020.
Speaking from the Albert Borschette building of the European Commission, Commissioner Cretu said that regional and local governments have a major role in the design, implementation and monitoring of investment, and that they need to continue to strive to macro regional strategies and programs to coordinate with regional projects and investments.
She mentioned International airport Dubrovnikas example of good project. More than 300 representatives from regional offices and associations of municipalities from 28 Member States participated in the event.
