In April 2016, four young people from Dubrovnik-Neretva County Emanuela, Luka, Zvonimir and Domagoj participated in transnational youth exchanges within the project "yBBregions" which is, on the Croatian side, preparing the Regional Development Agency Dunea.
The project was approved by the European Commission within the program "Youth in Action" involving four partner regions: Dubrovnik-Neretva County as Croatian representative, region Lubuskie in Poland , region of Prešov in Slovakia and the Italian region of Abruzzo.
Through the project over two years 80 young people were involved from 4 regions in the ages of 18 and 30 years through the activities of the European Voluntary Service and transnational youth exchanges. From Dubrovnik-Neretva County 18 young people participated in the project.
Young people who were involved in the project had the opportunity to learn about the EU institutions, starting with the EU Parliament, the EU Commission, the Committee of the Regions and the Council of the EU. Primarily they were introduced to the work of the regional representative offices in Brussels who were their hosts.
