The Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy has organized the 3rd Urban Development Network seminar on 18th February 2016. in Brussels and brought together 200 city managers, urban stakeholders, local, regional and national representatives, Commission services, as well as experts and academics in the field of sustainable urban development and innovation from across the 28 Member States.
The UDN is set out in the ERDF regulation for Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 and involved those urban authorities throughout the EU implementing integrated urban strategies.The Seminar was focused on the implementation of sustainable urban development (Article 7 ERDF). Workshops were organized around: design of integrated strategies; capacity building within cities and MAs; and project selection. In addition, short updates were given to the audience on: the launch of the URBACT III implementation networks; Urban Innovative Actions and Sustainable Urban Mobility.
