Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić participated on the conference "Adriatic – Ionian Macroregion for Jobs and Growth" that was held in Brussels in the framework of the Open Days week of regions and cities of the EU.
Dubrovnik - Neretva County is one of the members of the Adriatic - Ionian conglomerate that in the framework of the Open Days each year organize conference and discuss some of the issues related to the Adriatic - Ionian macro-region.
This year a leading partner of conglomerate was the Italian region Emilia-Romagna. Welcoming speech for the participants of the conference was held by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini.In the panel discussion with the presidents of the Italian regions of Marche, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Abruzzo, Calabria, Puglia and the Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo, Mayor Dobroslavić emphasized the importance of better integration within the macro region, which would contribute to a better economic development and gave a review on recently adopted opinion by the Committee of the Regions on strengthening cross-border cooperation and highlighted that according to this opinion, macro regions are recognized as a good model for strengthening and improving cross-border cooperation.
