The conference on the issue of education and the investment plan into the subject of matter was held on 5th October 2015. at the Square – Brussels Meeting Center. It was organized by the European Comission in accordance with European Investment Bank. The conference level was very high with speakers such as Vice President of the European Comission for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness Jyirki Katainen, Commissioner Tibor Navracsics , and Vice-President of the European Investment Bank László Baranyay.
The main goals of Conference were to raise awarness on the existing and new funding possibilities in the fields of education and training, present the existing EIB projects (emphasized the role of European Structural and Investment Funds), and to help mobilise potential projects. There was also a fruitful discussion on existing and new ways of funding projects in education through the Investment Plan, a National Promotional Bank (banks committed to co-financing projects and investment platforms) , the EU department for Economic and Financial affairs and the EU department for Regional and Urban Policy. The diversity of participants helped the dinamic flow of the conference and debates gathering together more than 300 participans including representatives from national ministries for education and finance, private and national banks, social partners, European Parliament, Committee of Regions and Regional Representation offices based in Brussels.
