Croatian Delegation at the Committee of the Regions met with President Barosso

hrv_delegacija_i_barrosoDuring the 94th plenary session of the Committe of the Regions the President of Dubrovnik-Neretva Region, Nikola Dobroslavić, and other members of Croatian delegation met with the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barosso.

The delegation consists of regional and local representatives and was nominated shortly after the Accession Treaty was signed in December 2011. Mayor of the City of Rijeka, Mr. Vojko Obersnel is the Head of the delegation while Mr. Nikola Dobroslavić is the deputy head of delegation.

President Barosso stressed the importance of the Committee of the Regions within the European Union. The Committee of the Regions (CoR) is the political assembly that provides local and regional authorities with a voice at the heart of the European Union. It was established in 1992 under the Maastricht Treaty. The inaugural plenary session of the Assembly was held in March 1994.
